Oh, how I love a good meme!

Mainly because it gets me out of having to come up with an idea for a blog post all on my own :o)  My creative brain cells are all being used to put some final touches on SPARK and to work on my WIP.  I'm afraid that doesn't leave much for my blog.

My lovely friend, Cherie tagged me to participate in this blog hopping meme.  I'll be the first to admit, I don't live the most exciting life (and I like it that way!), but I'll do the best I can!

1.  What is your dream vacation?

A five-star, all-inclusive resort on a private, tropical island.  You know, like the ones celebrities stay at that cost some exhuberant amount of money per night.  It's not likely to ever happen in this lifetime, but that's why it's considered a DREAM vacation :o)

2. Are you spontaneous or do you like to plan ahead?

I'm definitely a planner, but it's not  like I'm Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory.  I can handle little things popping up or the occasional change of plans.  But I'm so not the type to just wake up in the morning and decide to take a road trip.

3. Tell us one thing you want to do but don’t dare to do.

Hmm.  I don't know.  This is kind of a strange question.  There are a lot of things I'd like to do (to other people), but I don't, because of issues of legality.  HA!  Just kidding (kind of).

4. What's your biggest phobia?

I don't really have any phobias.  One of my biggest fears is dying before my children are raised.  It's not necessarily death I'm afraid of, it's the idea of leaving my children without a mother.  I have a friend whose mother died when she was a child, and that messed her up for years.  I think losing a parent at a young age is one of those things that stick with kids for a long, long time.  The idea of my children going through that kind of pain is terrifying.

5. If you were stranded on a desert island – what 3 things would you want with you (not including laptop, or family).

Okay, this question is borrr-ring, so I'm going to make it a bit more interesting.  If I was stranded on a DESSERT island, what three things would I want?  Okay, NOW we're talkin'.  (1) Big Boy's hot fudge ice cream cake, (2) lemon pie with AT LEAST a 3" tall layer of meringue, and (3) Banana pudding (made with home-made vanilla pudding, not the instant crap)

6. Name three blessings in your life.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy (one of my daughter's favorite sayings)--my husband, my son, and my daughter.

7. What was your nickname in High School?

I wasn't popular or nerdy enough in high school to have a nickname.  I guess you can say I kind of flew under the radar.  I had some at home, though.  My brother called me dork, idiot, etc.  My mom called me "Elvira" (from an old Oakridge Boys song I used to sing when I was little), and my dad called me "Annie-face" (go ahead, laugh).

8. If you could meet the President of the United States, what would you say to him?

My house is worth half of what I owe on it, and I REALLY want to move.  Can you help a girl out?

9. If you could be any literary character for a day, who would you be?

Daisy Buchanan from THE GREAT GATSBY.  I want to know what it's like to be rich with nothing to do all day except lounge around, sipping on mint juleps.

10. What is your favorite quote?

Easy!  This quote has been my mantra since I started querying my first book:
In all manner of pursuits there's a tendency to overesimate brilliance and underestimate persistence. Talent is common. Determination is rare. -Ralph Keyes

So now I'm supposed to tag seven people to participate.  This is always a bit awkward for me.  It's kind of like inviting someone to a party when you're not sure if they even want to come.  Oh, well.  As usual, no pressure to participate if you don't want to!

I'm looking forward to "hopping" around and reading everyone's answers :o)

  6. Loved this! Especially your answer about being Daisy Buchanan. I too would love to sit around, sipping mint juleps and wearing gorgeous 1920's clothing. Did you see Midnight in Paris? It made me want to go back in time! :)

  7. Angela, I will ALWAYS come to your paties. I loves you! LOL on #4 and #5. Hee. Okay, can't promise when, but I WILL get to this meme eventually. I have at least one tag to take care of first, and I need to fit in another Wonderland Bloggy Awards soon, so maybe sometime late spring. :)

  8. Haha! That was supposed to say parties, not paties. *chagrinned* Think my glass of wine is going to my head. Hmm. That means it's a good time to write on the WIP so I'd best get on it! Heh
